Explosion

All that remains of our home. Sue was inside and survived.

Hello friends. As Sue and I were preparing to record the next episode of our podcast on March 10, 2023, we experienced a catastrophic disaster. I had just stepped out of our home to warm up my meditation area, my man cave. Sue was putting the finishing touches on what we were going to say in the podcast with our beautiful dog Angel at her side. I was walking to my meditation area and was about 150 feet away from our home as Sue got up to take a break and play ball with Angel. As Sue and Angel opened the door to go outside, our home blew sky high. I turned around to see our home being blown to smithereens and being lifted over 100 feet into the air, with pieces flying hundreds of feet in all directions.

Sue and Angel were in the home and were caught in the blast. I ran back to the home as pieces were still coming back down to earth only to see that Angel had not survived the blast. I didn’t see Sue and I called to her to see if she had also perished. I heard a groan coming from the rubble and started moving broken timbers and boards off of Sue. It was a miracle. SUE WAS ALIVE! Although she was alive she was in extreme pain and was bleeding badly. I could see that her legs were broken. I called 911 to get the ambulance there as fast as possible. I could hear the propane line hissing and quickly trudged through the waist deep snow to turn off the propane.

By this time 3 of my neighbors finished climbing the hill to see what had happened and they helped me to finish clearing debris off of Sue and clear a path through the debris so Sue could be carried to the ambulance. The ambulance rushed Sue to the hospital and stabilized her, as best they could, and then she was flown to a level 1 trauma center. To everyone’s amazement Sue had no trauma to her head and no internal injuries. The trauma experts are stunned with that miracle given the immensity of the blast that Sue experienced. Both of Sue’s legs were broken in multiple places and her feet were very badly damaged. Sue has had many surgeries already, lost both her feet and has more surgeries to come. That being said, Sue is healing quicker than expected and the hospital staff are amazed not only at her progress but also her attitude. The secret to all of this is Sue’s connection to GOD.

Sue will be sharing her experiences, including how God has been with her, protecting her, guiding her, healing her and comforting her. This journey will be shared in our podcast when it resumes. Both Sue and I have been blown away by the tremendous outpouring of love, prayers and generous donations, not only from friends and family, but also from so many people we have never met. We know that the thousands of people that have been praying have definitely helped in her recovery. We thank you all. John Love
